Blue collar or white, butcher, baker, or candlestick maker, you’ll wanna bookmark these hot spots designed to prevent you from getting “burned” and avoid burn-out, regardless if you’re “working for the man” or managing your own joint..
Here’s what I uncovered in my recent “talent search.”
1. The Middle Finger Project
Of course the name drew me in; the content kept me rooted and reading! The motto for this site is “rejecting the status quo and rebelling against mediocrity”. Written by a woman named “Ash”, you’ll find her funny, fearless, and full of useful advice and real-world wisdom. Interesting posts include: Why stereotypes piss me off; How to pimp your site for less than you spent on your mom’s birthday; and Dream zappers!
2. Get in the Hot Spot
Join Annabel Candy as she delivers awesome advice on empowerment and entrepreneurship, with a dash of spice. You’ll find an array of topics from marketing to blogging, to living your dreams and conquering your demons!
3. Bigfishtopdogs.com
You gotta love this site’s name, right? And as it implies, this baby is all about reaching optimal levels of leadership, and rising to the top of your game! In this economic climate, and competitive environment, the only way to stay alive and survive is to step up or step off. Theresa will help to ignite your passion and put you on the path to success. Pronto.
4. Stuff White People Like
If you’re like most worker bees, you could probably use a little comic relief in between being berated by your boss, or back stabbed by your co-wokers. Can I get a “high five” here? If so, you’ll find loads of material provided by Christian Lander. Warning: If you’re a prude, or believe in always being “P.C.” this is not the place for you. In a nutshell the author allows us to address in a humorous light, some very common and sometimes crazy stereotypes about Caucasians. I dare you not to laugh! Here’s a preview of his ongoing list of stuff White folks like: Conan Obrien, girls with bangs, and Black music that Black people don’t listen to anymore. Funny stuff.
Well, that’s it for our travels for this session’s journey. But I’m sure you’ll score quite a few “frequent flyer miles” as you make repeat visits to these quality sites for information and inspiration in times ahead. Drop me a line and let me know about your discoveries. Happy trails to you…
