Free 2009 Sick Day Calendar Released By Career Blog Jobacle.com

Rapidly-growing career blog and podcast releases its third annual downloadable sick day calendar.

New York, NY (PRWEB)  — Rapidly growing career blog and employment news podcast, Jobacle.com, has released its third annual Official Sick Day Calendar. Available as a free download, the 2009 calendar highlights days that have “optimal sick day potential.” Notably, days that bridge standard holidays into longer leaves of absence.

“With close to 600 million vacation days lost by American workers each year, it’s quite likely that the number of wasted sick days is even greater,” says Andrew G.R., creator of the calendar and the founder of Jobacle. “We hope you don’t need your sick days when you’re really sick. However, with some proper planning you can get the most out of a flawed system.”

With more and more companies eliminating personal days and flextime, employees are counting more than ever on sick days to fulfill their vacation needs.

Among the calendar’s official sick days:

Friday, January 16 & Tuesday, January 20: You have a dream. And it’s five straight days away from your boss’s ugly mug and Microsoft Outlook. Call in sick on Friday, January 16 and Tuesday, January 20. Winter’s in full swing and the “flu” is hard to fight. Make MLK proud!

Monday, March 9: That extra hour of sun is awesome, but the one less hour of sleep hurts, especially when you’re stuck at the office. Use Monday, March 9 to catch up on your Zzzzs.

Thursday, July 2 & Monday, July 6: It’s a holiday based around independence. Show your employer that you’re a true individual by giving yourself Thursday, July 2 and Monday July 6. Besides, BBQ overload will surely take its toll on your body.

See the rest of the dates, listen to the Sick Day Podcast, and grab the free calendar at www.Jobacle.com.
