Opportunities for Job Hunters to Be More Resourceful

Opportunities for Job Hunters to Be More Resourceful

Looking at the job figures from the last month, it’s obvious there are still a lot of people out there hurting, and in need of every last idea or resource they can get to help them get back to work.

The U.S. unemployment rate is essentially flat at 7.9%, and the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) was also little changed at 5 million people.

Finding a job by tracking down open positions, rewriting resumes and filling out online applications can be a draining task. If you are serious about it, it can almost be a full-time job by itself.

Many times, it can be difficult to even find job postings or contact information for a job that looks perfect. There are many ways to look for your next job, but using an employment agency can amplify your efforts, plus cut down on a lot of the frustration and daily tedium of a traditional job search.

No Leg Work

While finding a job always requires dedication and determination, it’s not always possible to run down every possible job. In fact, many companies will only post job openings with a trusted staffing agency like Incepture.  Once you find a staffing agency to work with, all you’ll need is your resume and possibly an aptitude test, depending on the job you’re looking for. Staffing agencies work directly with companies to match qualified candidates with open positions, meaning that you don’t need to hunt down possible jobs. You’ll be matched directly with an employer who is looking for your skillset.

No Cost

While some employment agencies may require fees for their service, the vast majority of staffing firms are paid by the hiring company, and not by the employee. Since many firms are not paid until they successfully fill a position with a top candidate, they have ample reason to find the right employee for the job.

Targeted Employment

In years gone by, staffing agencies may have had a reputation for only placing entry-level or administrative candidates, but times have changed. Today, there are many staffing agencies that excel in placing professional and technical candidates in advanced positions. Finding qualified job candidates for open positions can be an expensive, time-consuming process, so many companies look to outsource their talent identification to staffing firms.

A Tangible Partner in Your Job Search

Searching for a job is a lonely experience, and it can be difficult to get positive feedback during a long search. But, it is in a staffing agency’s interest for you to find a good job with a good employer. Many agencies will provide interview preparation courses, resume editing services and will be there to answer any questions you have. One of the biggest advantages of a staffing firm is that you have an advocate on your behalf. Resumes, especially poorly written ones, don’t tell the whole story of a job candidate. Working with a good staffing firm provides a liaison who can get to know you and talk on your behalf with an employer.

Free Your Time

Recruitment agencies can be especially helpful if you are moving to a new city without a job already lined up. Unfortunately, many employers see non-local job candidates as more of a risk, and it can be difficult to find good jobs and conduct interviews from long distance. There are a few ways to increase your chances, but staffing agencies can cut out a lot of that work. By working with a good recruiter trusted by companies in your field, you can pass on a lot of the leg work in finding a job in a new city. This will give you more time to focus on important tasks like finding a place to live and actually move to your new city.
